As PIXL are a growing brand that are still active in the community, they’re always releasing new flavours in both their PIXL 6000 and Duo 12 range. This ensures that whichever device you prefer you’ll be treated to new flavours regularly. The PIXL 6000 offers 6000 puffs of one flavour, while the PIXL Duo offers 3000 puffs of two separate flavours in one device. Most of the flavours featured in both devices are fruity flavours, with some menthols and some candy flavours thrown in the mix.
Cost
As both the PIXL Duo 12 and the PIXL 6000 are in our 2 for £20 mix and match deal, they both cost £11.98 each resulting in no price difference. As both these devices cost the same and offer the same amount of puffs, there’s no comparison in this aspect. They’re significantly cheaper than standard 600 puff disposables which cost around £5 per 2ml of liquid. Whichever device you choose you’re getting great value for money.
PIXL 6000 vs PIXL Duo 12 Features
Both devices share some features due to the fact they’re made by the same company, however there are some differences to note. In this part of the comparison we’ll go through the device’s features allowing you to decide which is more suited to you.
Display Screen
Both devices feature a smart display screen. This screen shows the battery percentage, most switch status, and a lock symbol that shows if the device has been locked. All of these symbols fit on the small screen present on the front of both devices. You’ll know when your PIXL 6000 or PIXL Duo is running out of battery because of the screen, ensuring you always have a charged vape. The screen can be lit up by pressing the button located on the bottom (PIXL 6000) or the side (PIXL Duo 12) of the device, or by taking a puff of the device.
Boost Switch
Boost switch is a feature implemented on both the PIXL 6000 and the PIXL Duo 12. It boosts the power output of the device allowing for a stronger hit and a higher vapour production. This is an optional feature and can be turned off and on with the boost switch button. Pressing the button twice will activate or deactivate boost switch. If the red flame on either PIXL is showing on the screen, boost switch is activated. As the boost switch uses more power, the devices battery will, drain quicker.
Removable Pods
Once the PIXL 6000 is set up, the pods or batteries are not designed to be removed. This can be seen as both a negative and a positive. As the pod or battery can’t be removed, it needs to be recycled together. This however means there’s less chance for the device to fall apart while in your pocket which is considered a positive, The PIXL Duo 12’s pods are held in magnetically, so they’re able to be removed from the device. The positive that removable pods bring is safer charging. If you remove the pods from the device when charging you can lower the chance of the e-liquid heating up and leaking into the device causing issues.
How to use the PIXL 6000 vs the PIXL Duo 12
Both PIXL devices require some set up, however the PIXL Duo does require some additional steps. Below is a detailed instruction list on how to set up both devices.
The PIXL Duo 12 Set Up
- Open the plastic bag and remove the refill container and the device.
- Remove the rubber bung and stickers from the extra pod.
- Remove the rubber mouthpiece and stickers from the device.
- Ensure the flavours on the pod line up with the PIXL screen and push to combine until you hear a click.
- Rotate the mouthpiece to switch between the flavours and enjoy.
The PIXL 6000 Set Up
- Open the plastic bag and remove the refill container and the device
- Remove both bungs, one from the 10ml refill and one from the PIXL device.
- Click the refill container into the device.
- Enjoy and vape!
As the set up is pretty similar for both devices, we would say neither is easier than the other. However, the PIXL 6000 does have less waste during the set up process, so we’d consider that a plus.

The Overview
As you can see, both PIXL devices are very similar and the major difference between each is the flavour options. The PIXL 6000 offers one flavour per device while the PIXL Duo 12 offers two. This is the main thing you should consider when picking a PIXL to vape. The other noticeable difference is the battery size. The PIXL Duo 12 will keep you vaping for longer as it boasts an 850mAh battery, while the PIXL 6000 offers a 650mAh battery. This isn’t a huge issue if you’ll always have a charger nearby, however if you’re usually away from a charger then going for a bigger battery is always a win. We enjoy both the big puff disposables here at Prime Vapes and find it difficult to decide which is best. Many customers have told us they enjoy the Duo more as it doesn’t require as much charging, however some customers don’t like the two flavour feature and would rather stick with the original PIXL 6000 for ease of use and continuity. If you’re still unsure on which device to try, why not pick up one of each and give them a go. As they’re both featured in our 2 for £20 disposable deal, you can grab one of each to try while still saving money. If you’re more interested in moving away from disposable vapes and moving more towards refillable pod kits, you can read our blog on the top 5 best starter kits. Some of these kits even cost less than a PIXL! Whichever PIXL you decide to go for, make sure to leave a review and let us know what you think.
