The Vaporesso Xros range has been a fan favourite for many years in the vaping community. They have a strong brand presence and are known for the pod compatibility across their line of products. They are the innovators of the AXON chip, a hardware chip that has improved the way the Xros range has performed.
Vaporesso Xros Pros:
- You can find it nearly everywhere. Vaporesso Xros is such a commonly sold range that even some petrol stations and supermarkets stock replacement pods for them. The Xros range can be found throughout the nation.
- They're simple to use. Most of the Xros range is incredibly easy to use. They don't feature confusing buttons or screens, making them perfect for beginner vapers and experienced vapers alike. Vaporesso do offer more advanced tech in the Xros range, like the Xros 4 Nano, boasting a brand new interface and control panel.
- A huge range of pod resistances. With the Xros range, you can choose between 0.4ohm, 0.6ohm, 0.8ohm, 1.0ohm, and 1.2ohm resistance. This range is much larger than many of Vaporesso's competitors, making it stand out from the rest.
Vaporesso Xros Cons:
- Small capacity pods. Unlike many other brands that have decided to create bigger pods for their devices, Vaporesso have always kept their Xros replacement pods to a small 2ml. This is far smaller than many other brands and ranges. There may be a reason for this, however it is a driving factor in many people's decision to choose other brands.
- Small choice of devices with a screen. Some vapers much prefer a screen on their device that shows information about the kit and pods, especially in the newer generation of pod kits. Unfortunately, there aren't many choices in the Xros range of kits with a screen. If you're a screen and button fanatic, then the Xros range may not be for you.
Oxva have seen a huge rise in popularity over the recent years, with their Xlim range being the first to explode in the mainstream market. The Xlim series offers many different devices with many different features. The great thing about the Xlim range is the versatility they provide, offering high-tec and low-tec devices that all utilise the same replacement pods.
Oxva Xlim Pros:
- Range in prices. The great thing about the Xlim series is the large gap between the least expensive and most expensive kit. Whether you're looking to splash out on all the bells & whistles. or keep it simple, you'll find a Xlim to match your needs. If you'd like to slowly upgrade your kit, you won't have to compromise on pods or flavour.
- Simple side fill. As the bung is on the side of the pod, filling up an Oxva Xlim is super simple and not messy, allowing you to fill up with ease. The xlim replacement pod doesn't need to be removed, simply pull out the bung and push it to one side.
- Immense flavour. The Xlim and NeXlim replacement pods offer one of the tastiest experiences on the market. They last an incredibly long time with the flavour output remaining high throughout the pods lifespan.
Oxva Xlim Cons:
- Too much similarity. Most, if not all, vape kits featured in the Xlim line of kits look very similar. They all harness the same body shape and feel. Although they did create a square shaped device, it didn't really gain as much traction as other similarly shaped kits from other brands.
- Auto draw or button? Some of the Xlim kits, like the NeXlim, only have an autodraw option. Many people agree that a kit with this power (40W) should have the option of button activation, considering there is a button on the device. Remember to check each Xlim kit individually before purchasing to ensure it has the correct inhalation activation that you're looking for.
The Gotek range by Aspire has been popular for a few years now. The Goteks are known for their compact design and affordable price. They make great starter kits, offering many different colours and designs across all models to ensure your vape doesn't only taste good, but looks good too.

- Compact square design. The Gotek range feature a signature square design, resembling a disposable vape for many people. This makes them super compact and easy to carry around wherever you need.
- Large capacity pods. Gotek kits may be physically small and compact, however the Gotek refillable pods are anything but small. They have a whopping 4.5ml capacity, holding nearly half a bottle of 10ml e-liquid at a time.
Aspire Gotek Cons:
- Less control. The Gotek range is built for simplicity, therefore it lacks some features people would like to see. They do lack wattage control, and a way to turn the device on and off. lacking these features does put some people off of the Gotek range.
- Slow charging. Most of the Gotek range only feature 1A charging, whereas many vape kits now feature 2A charging which is much quicker. The never Gotek models may have 2A charging, but many of the original models don't, so keep that in mind when choosing a Gotek device.
